Bioflush System Cleaner is a biocidal/fungicidal cleaner and disinfectant fluid for use in water-based coolant systems. It’s also perfect for machine tools using soluble cutting oils. We recommend using Bioflush System Cleaner to remove oil, slime and sludge deposits. That way, you can lessen the effects of bacterial and fungal growth, including the elimination of objectionable odours. It can be used while the machine is in operation, so there’s no loss of production time.

Bioflush System Cleaner FAQ's
Bioflush contains a specially formulated biocide-fungicide mix to stop bacterial growth and break down slimy deposits. It’s used as a disinfectant in water-based coolant systems and machine tools to assist with cleaning ahead of a fluid change. For the best results, we recommend adding roughly 1-2% by volume around 48 hours ahead of changing the coolant. You can use the machine as normal within this period to minimise disruptions. Absolutely! In most use cases, you can add Bioflush to a system while it’s still in operation. This helps the cleaning agent circulate through the system, ensuring that all parts are cleaned and disinfected. As well as helping to clean your equipment, Bioflush will keep any downtime to a minimum, ensuring the continuation of your operations.
Another benefit of Bioflush is that it’s easy to use, simply:
- Add Bioflush – Mix in 1–2% Bioflush into your system about two days before you plan to change the coolant. You can keep using your machine as normal during this time.
- Drain the Old Coolant – When you’re ready, drain out the old coolant using a coolant vacuum such as a Freddy Midi. A Freddy Midi Cooalnt Vacuum will filter and recycle the coolant so it can be reused. If there’s any oil floating on top of the coolant, remove that first. Then wipe down the inside of the tank to get rid of any leftover dirt or grime.
- Clean the Machine Area – Remove any metal shavings or debris from the machine’s base and tray areas.
- Flush the System – Fill the tank with clean water and add 0.5–1% Bioflush. Let it run through the system for about 15–30 minutes.
- Final Rinse – Drain out the water and Bioflush mix, then wipe away any remaining sludge using clean cloths.
- Refill with Coolant – Add the recycled & filtered or fresh coolant to the system. If possible, use a mixing unit, such as a Mixtron dosing pump, for better results.
- Run & Test – Circulate the new coolant through the machine and check the concentration level using a refractometer.
For the best results, we recommend using Bioflush during coolant changes or whenever bacterial contamination is detected (i.e., a foul odour). Regular use can be helpful as a preventative measure, ensuring optimal system hygiene.
