Machine Cleaning

Effective coolant management starts with a clean system

Our machine cleaning service is purpose-built for applications where metalworking fluids are used, providing a robust and efficient solution for removing residual sludge, tramp oil, and particulate build-up from CNC machines and conventional machine sumps and pipework.

Our PROCARE Engineers thoroughly clean the coolant system and refill it with fresh coolant at the correct concentration, helping restore coolant performance, reduce odours and create a cleaner working environment. Combined with PROCARE Fluid Management, regular testing and maintenance helps to keep coolant healthy, extend its life and reduce recurring problems.

How long does a machine clean actually take?

Our thorough sump cleaning service typically takes around 2 hours for a 300-litre sump*, delivering a deep clean that restores coolant performance and keeps your machinery running efficiently.

A proper deep clean also helps new coolant last longer and significantly lowers the chance of bacterial contamination developing in the system.

What are the benefits of machine cleaning?

Our machine cleaning service removes old coolant, tramp oil, swarf, sludge and other contaminants from CNC and conventional machine sumps and pipework. Giving your coolant system a fresh start ready for new coolant.

A clean machine is only the beginning

To keep coolant performing at its best, it needs regular attention.

That's why many customers combine machine cleaning with our PROCARE Fluid Management service. Through routine testing, monitoring and maintenance, we can help maintain coolant condition, extend its working life and reduce the risk of problems returning.

A clean machine, combined with effective coolant management, can help deliver more reliable machining, longer coolant life and fewer unexpected issues.

We offer a full PROCARE Fluid Management Service with different service levels, tailored to your needs.

FAQs

Even if your coolant is well maintained, as a rule your machines should be cleaned out annually.Ā

A machine should be cleaned when sludge, tramp oil or other contamination builds up, or when coolant performance or odour becomes an issue. Regular coolant monitoring helps identify when a deeper clean is needed.

Over time, sludge, tramp oil, swarf, bacteria and degraded coolant can build up in the sump and pipework.

This can affect coolant performance, cause unpleasant odours and create an unsafe working environment for operatives. Regular cleaning and routine fluid management help prevent contamination from becoming a recurring problem.

Adding fresh coolant to a contaminated system can leave sludge, tramp oil and other deposits behind, allowing the same problems to return. Cleaning the machine first provides a cleaner starting point and with routine testing, allows the fresh coolant to perform as intended.
