Running In Oil
Pennine Running In Oil is a specially formulated, low-detergent engine oil engineered to support the controlled bedding-in of new or rebuilt engines.
Crafted with highly refined virgin base oils and selected additives, it provides excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance while allowing critical engine components, such as piston rings and cylinder bores, to achieve proper contact during the initial running-in period. This ensures optimal ring sealing, reduces the risk of bore glazing, and helps protect vital engine internals throughout the break-in phase before regular service oils are applied.

It’s designed to be the first lubricant filled in the engine, helping the critical bedding-in process before switching over to your regular service oil as recommended by the engine manufacturer.
The recommended running-in period can vary depending on the engine and manufacturer guidelines, but most engine builders suggest running on Running In Oil for the first few hundred miles (typically up to around 300–500 miles or equivalent hours of operation) before draining and refilling with the specified service lubricant.
This ensures surfaces have properly seated and any metal wear particles are removed.
